Why Altezzas can be cool!

Alright guys, I finally got my hard drive back...I shifted through at least a thousand pictures but it looks like the key ones I was looking for are lost...I do have a FEW examples, unfortunately I did have a more diverse selection but here is an example from a Del Sol...highlighting the potential that those ugly tail lights can have Wink.

I've also seen them done on the more popular Honda Accords, and various other cars. Again, I wish I could have more examples to show you guys though.

Basically, they find altezzas that are still clear on the bottom, and then they paint over the "red dots" part, making a clean, almost OEM appearance. Maybe some of you may not like how it looks, but I'd take these over stock Del Sol tail lights ANY DAY.

And...if you guys wanna hear a secret, my car has altezzas as well Wink. I wish I was kidding, but they're not OEM Honda lights, they're OEM Style Altezzas from ebay, haha. SEE?!? They're not all THAT bad, you just have to know how to work with what you have.

your lights arent bad at all, but is that considered an altezza? isnt an altezza supposed to be designed after the toyota or lexus altezza?

RE: Why Altezzas can be cool!

Theres a difference between like chrome housing tail lights
and altezza style lights
Depends on the design and stuff
Either way I'm not that big of a fan but just me.
Haha Ill even go out on a limb
And say I like my 96-98's
way better then I would a set of 99-00 tails on my car

Hahaha oh man....nah....That's pretty extreme, I've never heard of that happening. The only problem I know that is associated with altezzas is condensation problems because the seals aren't always properly done, but that's easily remedied.

You'e absolutely right. But just like anything, these cheap markets have to evolve in order to keep up with the trends. First they were labeled "Altezza style," then (and now) "JDM style," and now even "OEM style" is starting to come back. Nowadays altezza is starting to lose its roots as a Lexus inspired light and become more....a light that isn't OEM haha.

Keeping it OG huh? Respect.

Some people are old school, that's definitely fine. Users like you or Gabe have definitely pulled off the ambers well, whereas I couldn't stand mine and was happy to swap em out.

I did start hating the original Lexus/Toyota Altezza lights after the ebay special lights came out though.

Yes it is. I think altezza was also a name brand in the U.S. I'm not sure though

RE: Why Altezzas can be cool!

well first off, when i was talking about altezzas, i was talking about the dark almost carbon fiber look, chrome, and black. wasnt talking about what the delsols have that doesnt really bother me, my friend did that to his evo and it looks mad good.
but yeah i was talking about the black/cf/chrome altezzas on cars other than is300s and evos that are really ugly and stupid.
