Whoops, power steering IS for me! (maybe)
Recently removed PS belt just to see how it is driving without PS. I enjoyed the response and the ability to more predictably corner.
But, it's been two or so days since then, and I'm getting bored of it. I was at the local Honda dealer today (Rusty Wallis for the record) getting some ATF and oil filter, and had a lot of 5-point turns to do and such, it just... Was not worth it. I do that kind of thing often.
Unfortunate, as I bought about 10 inches of fuel line to loop the rack, and even considered T'ing it off with a breather. It would definitely, of course, get better after doing all that... But I'm just not sure if it'd be worth it.
Opinions? I'm thinking "keep power steering", and may reattach the belt and/or get a fresh one.

RE: Whoops, power steering IS for me!
A lot of people say that performance cars shouldn't have AC or PS installed...I drive my coupe on weekends or nice days and like those sort of luxuries, I plan to turbo my car but I think of my car as a luxurious coupe with some power on it.
As for my work car, it doesn't have A/C...kind of whatevers. I drove a Civic Wagovan for a couple of weeks and I didn't like not having PS on it...it sort of took away some of the "security" I'm used to feeling when I drive.
You've already answered your own question though, it's not for you and I'm sure no one here has any reason to REALLY validate getting rid of it (i.e you would gain a ton more power with it gone). I say keep it .

If I see another n00b on this site with "EJ8" in their name, I'm gonna freak out. Originality FTW!

Trying to steer your car with just the belt off is WAY WAY WAY more hard to steer than looping & venting the lines is.
I would for sure not base if you want PS by the time you had with your car that way. Spend the hour and the few bucks you spent on the stuff and loop the lines. If you end up not liking it, you can just revert back to normal with a few more bucks and about another hour or so.

never had PS on any of my cars, when i drive my buddys 200 all motor ej8 with ps i fell un safe every thing is jerky in accell and breaking, if you dont want the PS like me just save up and buy a non power stearing rack there 10x better than a PS rack with no pump to it , you can pick up a new one from auto part stores for aroud $200 with the trade in of you old one, or just get one from a junk yard

^^^
This is what I want to do. I've see some write-up regarding this. However, the ones I've seen are crap.
I suggest that someone who knows how to search forums good post a new thread w/ links to how it's done in detail and what's needed to do it. Rep for whoever can get this done as I am looking for something and somehow to get mine done.

I've vented the lines in a temporary way. Will further complete at later time.
