Im going to be turboing my d-series!

the reason for this, is that my mom had to drive my dad to the airport the other day and she used my car. well i have another exhaust leak from that damn gasket on the header were the 2 pieces connect. And she told me that she wants to get me a new header because its unsafe for me to drive like that because it get very stinky () in the cabin. i decided that im just going to weld the header, and start piecing together a turbo kit! she asked me how much it'll cost, and she told me since i didnt get my paycheck from last week and i pretty much moved everything out of our shop and to the storage that she'll give me $450 bucks. so i have that, and my $300. so i believe with $750 i can piece most of the kit out.

the turbo im going to be getting this weekend is from and eclipse
and im just goin to get a cast iron or a tsunami header for it, and get a piping kit from ebay, then i need the intercooler which ill prolly get off ebay aswell. then i just need hoses and gauges! and i dont need a taped oil pan since my engine was previously turboed at 9 psi

Be sure to do your research!!!! Turbo'ing can become a nightmare if your not prepared. Do you have an OBD1 ECU and a conversion harness to run it? Downpipe? Is your downpipe going to match your exhaust? FUEL MANAGEMENT? So many questions just make sure you go through them before you attempt it, to avoid future headache. Good luck on your quest!

i know of the heartaches of turboing. ill be picking up a obd1 ecu tuned with hondata up at TSR and a conversion harness, i havnt really searched for down pipes yet, but ill check them out.

Dont forget injectors, vacuum lines, bov, wastegate.....etc.

i have EVERYTHING but im still waiting on my turbo manifold am about to say f@$K it and buy one of those cast topmounts that way when my manifold is done i wont have to change much!

i thought about getting a turbo for my y8 but im too nervous about trying it

i wouldnt even attempt if people in my house didnt know how to do it. lol

Oh man, it was the best thing I did to my car....I think.

its prolly goin to take a lil while to piece together.. but i cant wait till its done!!!
