RE: Need for Speed Shift
my buddy actually just picked it up for shits and giggles, its basically gran tourismo and forza mixed together to make one game... a steering wheel and a nice comfortable seat would make this game amazing, but we're usin just regular controller. still fun though! love sliding the s2k around.

RE: Need for Speed Shift
I gotta disagree with you. My brother picked it up for $40 at best buy and I personally find it to be garbage. Its stuck between a simulation racer and an arcade racer. Its no way a mix of GT and FM though. You go off course and your race is pretty much over, but hitting others is encouraged. The controls are twitchy as hell too.
It takes the same focus you need to race a forza game but its like playing burnout trying to run others off the road. ![]() AIM sn: xhkt03 .:. ..el blog.. |

RE: Need for Speed Shift
I thought it was really good when I first picked it up, but then the more I played it the more it kind of got old and boring to me. The outside view of the car annoys me; when you take a corner the car slides all over the place. But on the in-car view, the car is perfectly fine around that same corner. I don't know I think it's a good game in general, but I'd either wait for Forza 3, or I might try and take this back or something. I might even trade it in for Dirt 2?

RE: Need for Speed Shift
You ballers gotta learn how to tune, my R30 Skyline and E92 BMW M3 pwnz.
It's not Forza or Gran Turismo. It's still an arcade racer, but it's fun and intense and a good change from pacing laps and driving conservatively. I agree that it does encourage aggressive driving, so I've been doing my best to gain precision points instead. I've had some rather intense races but it's challenging and the sensation of speed is incredible. I do wish they had left the drift section out though, that part just really sucks. ![]() Cute Girl Aficionado. Honda Basher. Traditionalist. 22 Years Old. Mafia Stylus 893.261.6669. RE: Need for Speed Shift
If you're expecting a true simulation, I'd wait. The game has a lot of eye candy, it looks amazing at high speeds and the sound is superb. If you're playing for a sensory experience, then the game is worth picking up. If you want to feel challenged in a realistically detailed simulation, then the game is not for you.

Sounds exactly my type of game. I'm not too much into simulations. Got a question? Use THIS! Artikgrau325is Wrote:Mod

RE: Need for Speed Shift
I went in pretending it was a new game, like I hadn't touched the other pieces of *poopy* bearing the NFS name after Underground and its just one confused game. I wasn't expecting a Forza and I wasn't expecting a Burnout. Its just too frustrating to pick up and go..
I did notice the in car cam makes the cars easier to control, I thought I was dreaming. (09-30-2009 01:59 PM)skunkdSiR Wrote: So is this game worth it or no? lol I wish they had a demo to d/l Demo should be up on Live tomorrow I think. ![]() AIM sn: xhkt03 .:. ..el blog.. |
