I was caught up in that numbers matching shindig with my truck build. After a bit of research I found that it is mostly a sellers play, only the Corvettes were serialized at that time, but for the trucks the closest you could narrow things down to were the month and hour that the engine was built, but you couldn't say "this engine was specifically made to go with this truck."

Instead it was, truck coming down one lane, engine comes down another lane, I guess that's what's going in here. Next.

My theory with muscle cars/trucks at that point is to "modernize" them. Unless it's super rare you better believe that I'm going to get rid of drum brakes and 8 mpg for 4 piston Brembo big brake disks, and a 500hp LsX swap that gets 24 mpg. They made 6 million of them, and mine is a base model work horse, people won't cry if I hack it up a bit Smile

Well, to some people a low mileage CRX is "just another car"

But to people in the Honda world, finding a clean low mileage CRX is like finding a unicorn.

Sure things like wheels and basic bolt ons can be changed. But ripping it apart to throw some swap in there IMO is just crazy. If it was in good/fair shape and bring it back to glory, Sure! Im all about it. Do what you want. B/K/J, with only your wallet and imagination.

But finding one in all original shape just to hack it up..

Ehh, everyone has their own ideas i guess.
