My Civic Scraping Too Low?

1. A polyurethane lip is great, especially when ur riding low. Very flexible but u have to know what ur doing in order to paint them. Regular paint or spray paint will NOT stick unless u prep it properly. Another thing is fitment, sometimes u have to apply a little heat, ie. blow dryer, to make it fit. Poly doesn't do so good in extreme climates. If it's to cold it will break if bent to far, many below freezing. If it's to hot they tend to warp and will not return to it's original form.

2. Those fasteners are a pain in the ass. The rubber band breaks after jus a few weeks or months. In that pic u posted you'll notice that they're not on that tight, this is because they still have the screws that attach the bumper to the fender. When riding low, especially going in reverse, if ur bumper gets snagged on something the screws in the wheel well will strip out, and the fasteners are a quick and easy solution. Go to ur local hardware store and see if they have something similar so u can have some in the glove box or get some zip ties. Problem with zip ties is they don't flex like that rubber bands would.

Both of these have their pros and their cons. But when trying to ride low the pros make a lot of sense.

Oh and also my catalytic converter sit 1" off the ground and my front lip is 2" off the ground. So scrapping comes daily to me.

Thanks a lot man. I don't care much about painting the lip I want it black. I don't really like those fasteners. They just look... not oem. I'm trying to go with an OEM+ look. Nothing under me scrapes. Only my front bumper. I straight piped the car. It's just annoying when I'm at an incline about to go down and there's a lot of people behind and I have to angle so much and take my time. But eh, it's the low life I guess.

i feel ur pain bro, my car looks like it doesn't sit that low but my cat is literally 1-1.5 inches off the ground. I would scrape drastically going up that driveway. But it's all about the angle, try coming in earlier and keeping the wheels more straight then turn. It probably won't work but hey it's worth a try. Also do another vid but this time have the person taking the vid look under the car from the side so u can have a better view of what's going on under the car.

Last thing as stated before if u wanna drive low then u have to beware of ur surroundings and setup ur suspension to deal with it. If this is a driveway that u absolutely have to use daily then u are either going to have to raise ur car up, improvise with some wooden 2x4s or jus say f--k it and keep on scrapin'. Either way Honda didn't make our Civics that low for this very reason, so tweaking with ur suspension and lowering it is ur desire so find what works for u.
