What you say is true but the probability of a highly religious person showing compassion is much less vs. a person with no religion. That is the main argument. Would you agree or disagree?

I personally don't think religion should be the only factor. Do they have any serious family problems? Do they live in a "lower class" neighborhood or see a lot of "helpless" people? And what exact religious people are they studying?
Not asking you but I think that's a little more of interest than atheists vs religions imo

Just because you are "religious" does not mean your are more charitable. It all depends where your hear it.
