Weekly Bible: Romans Chapter 1

I've read James Ch 5 and read it some more. What I got out of it the most is in verse 12.


"But above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation."


"Let your "yes" be yes and your "no be no." That is so hard to do. Yet, it says "above all". As of late I am trying to not be aloof or use the word "maybe" when someone asks a question of m or to do something with them. More so when in comes my son Elijah. He will ask to do something or asks me to do something with him. I tend to throw out he word "maybe" and that usually if not always means "no". But lately I've been trying to give a straight "yes" or "no" answer.

Give it a try. Go through your day and see how hard it is to not say "maybe", "depends on this or that", "I'll see", etc.

I am interested in continuing this weekly study. I just haven't been able to focus my attention to this thread cause it is wedding crunch time. My vote is to keep it.
