Weekly Bible: Romans Chapter 1
Yup I think that this chapter shows each individual that he she is a hypocrite
Because of how everything is explained
and as for the video that's really great
Super late but just because I've been busy with school-no excuse but still

I thought this chapter was short and to the point
My thoughts were almost on point to what was in context of the verses
Ye ask and receive not, because ye ask amiss that ye may consume it upon lusts.
I thought this was making total perfect sense just for the simple fact that if you ask form wrong things you wont receive them if not needed.
If you ask for needed things and pray for them they'll be given,
A wrong way to ask would be: to ask for money just to have more, a correct way would be to ask for money to: pay rent/mortgage ,bills, food, help someone,(imo)
Some people may ask God, the Lord , for incorrect things and not receive anything leading them to believe no God exists
But it may be what they're asking for thats wrong.

Ye adulterers and adulteresses know ye not that the friendship of world is enmity with God?
Whosoever therefore will be a friend or the Work is the enemy of God.
I didn't really understand this ones too much so I asked for help to explain this from my father
He told me to think of it as this;
The world is full of wrong doing ie.
Drugs, gangs , fighting, stealing cheating, lying etc.
That's all in the world and if your ok with that anser friend it then that's where the scripture takes its roll, "whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God "

I thought this few we're good yo keep in mind-
Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, the spirit that dwelleth in us, lusteth to envy?
Humble yourself in the sight if The Lord,
And he shall lift you up
Speak not evil of one another brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother , speaketh evil of the law, but if they judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law but a judge.
This above verse speaks for itslef
Basically saying don't spread rumors or talk bad about one another for it isa sin.
Therefore to him that knoweth to do good and doth it not,, TO HIM IT IS SIN

I am going to hit on the few things that made me think.

James 4:4
You adulterous people! Do you you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself and enemy of God.

Reading the word "adulterous" I immediate think of cheating on a spouse. I realized that in this context it is referring to cheating on God. How? By ignoring the gift of the Spirit that one gets when accepting Jesus as their savior to please the world instead of standing up for what you believe. If one gives up what they deep down inside know is right in order to appease the world that person is an enemy to God.

--micro rant ahead.
The world will always look down on believers and unfortunately the opposite is true. Some believers look down on non-believers. Which, in my opinion gives ALL Christians a bad rap. If only they could remember they were once non-believers too and they as believers STILL sin just like the people they, for some reason look down on.
--end mircro rant

James 4:6
But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

I believe that if you dissect every sin that we do, you will find at the source of that sin, pride (see micro rant above). I'm not saying that one cannot take pride in something he or she made or did. But if that prideful feeling takes over someone will get hurt. The topic of pride could be a topic onto itself.

James 4:11
Do not speak evil against one another, brothers...

Brothers, as in fellow believers or fellow man? This goes back to the James 3 and the misuse of the tongue.

James 4:13-14
Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such town and spend a year there and trade and make profit" --yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is you life? For you are mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.

This part is what struck me the most. Not sure exactly why but it sure does put things in perspective. Who can guarantee that they will be here tomorrow?
Romans 3:23

Last bump for James Ch 4 as Monday we will wrap up James with Ch 5.
Romans 3:23
English Standard Version (ESV)

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Monday we start 5?
I feel we got the same meaning out of chapter 4 Jeremy
If we don't read Ch 5 and post our thought, then it will not be a complete study.
