Skunk2 Intake Manifold

ok so i bought a skunk2 intake manifold about a week ago and put it on the other day, it was awesome power gains for around 3k to redlineRunaway Woot and the sound with the cold air intake was awesome but today im driving and all of a sudden smoke pours for under the hoodGotme, not good in rush hour traffic, so i pull over and look at it and the stupid metal coolent nipple on sthe flange part is just dangling there with coolent pouring outCuss, i hate skunk2 so much right nowCuss, but my buddy at toyspeed is calling them and we are goin to send it back tomorrow, so we will find out tomorrow the outcome

That sucks man, good luck. You noticed power gains? Do you have a cam/aftermarket tb?

This is a very common problem with the Skunk2 IMs.. even the newest ones with the "S2" logo on them Sad Sorry about your luck. There are plenty of fix ideas posted on HT.

edit: And Skunk2 is definitely aware of the problem already!

i was using nitrous and had that same problem happen to me too. i hammed it in hella hard and use that gasket sealant around the edges and never had the problem.



MY SOHC can beat ur DOHC

before i even bought mine i knew about the potential problem, so i just used a lil bit of JB weld. rolled a small line up and put it around the coolant fitting and smoothed it out. no leaks yet.
