Skunk2 IM

I'm kind of curious about the Skunk2 IM. Does anyone have one of these? My main concern is the close fitment to the firewall tjat I've heard about on some D series.

Thanks,

Jeremy

RE: Skunk2 IM

youre not gonna benefit much from a manifold on a relatively stock motor. maybe 5-6hp.

youd be better off porting the stocker and geting a lightly larger tb

not much, youll benefit some but itd be more cost effective to just port your stocker

RE: Skunk2 IM

I helped a bud install his Skunk2 IM in his EJ and it fit fine. The fitment issues are mostly in the CRX's and EF Civics. You may have to move your alarm siren depending on where it was installed. My bud also had a Crower Stage 2 Cam and it made a big difference in response especially after he got it tuned. Helped him gain btween 5-8 HP on the mid to Higher end of the powerband. I think it is definitely worth the investment. We picked up both of ours for $198 ea BNIB.

RE: Skunk2 IM

I'm not dogging on anyone.....I just want to say too many people complain about how much power something will give you. This is o.k. though. Power per dollar is a very justifiable and debatable topic.

IMO anything that gives you an increase is worth it. Nobody said this hobby wasn't expensive.

Your performance will be enhanced FOR SURE with the stuff you have already. Much....nope but some that you can feel......FOR SURE. Is it worth it......that's a question you'll have to ask yourself. I'd get one in a heartbeat but yes.....porting your stocker is far less. Just gotta find someone to do it if you're not comfortable w/ it.

As far as fitment goes.....just look at Adam's old turbo D motor pics......he had a Y8 in his 98 w/ a S2 Pro series IM. You'll see everything you need there. I can say for a fact that the fitment problems are more when a B series motor is in an ef or eg chassis.
