Quest for boost...
Well upon the arrival of my SPEC Stage 2 clutch today, I would have to say that my quest for boost has begun. I'm aiming for a pretty solid setup that will leave me some room to grow and upgrade as I please. My goals are pretty much standard nothing too special right around the 200-210whp mark, just some more power than the mighty y8 can offer me now. So here is the basic setup and I will be sure to keep this updated as I go, but hopefully you guys stick around because I have a feeling this quest may be a long one...
Specs: Stock D16y8 (114,000), Spec stage 2 clutch, resurfaced flywheel, new timing belt along alternator belt, etc., and water pump, still need to do a compression check and leak-down test before anything just to make sure everything is in good order.
Basics
Turbo: Garrett T3 Super 60
Manifold: Log Style w/ 38mm WG flange from Greg at Autoworks
Downpipe: 2.5" Flared to 3" also from Autoworks
Intercooler and Piping: 27x6x2.5 again from Autoworks
Wastegate: Tial 38mm w/ dumptube
BOV: Greddy RS
Exhaust: Full custom 3" stainless system w/ Magnaflow muffler
Fuel
Injectors: Precision 440's with clips

Pump: Walbro 255lph

Engine Managment
ECU: Chipped P28 w/ most likely Neptune or whatever Jeff Evans from Evans Tuning wants, because he will be the one tuning it
Other
AEM UEGO Wideband
OBD2B-OBD1 jumper harness--GOT IT--Thank you silver97ex

3" High flow cat
Stealthmode Oil Lines
Fast-Turbo Vacuum Manifold
Some sort of Manual Boost Controller haven't decided yet

Sandwhich adapter for oil lines/gauges
Boost/Oil Pressure Gauges w/ pod
Spare oil pan just in case
I think thats about everything, trying to stay in the 3g range, but its gotta be done right so well see, and I'll keep you guys updated!

RE: Quest for boost...
Man.....that's a solid setup. Good choice w/ everything. Gotta love the Stealthmode lines! They're my boys from MN!....well one of them. LoL.
I'd add ARP head studs and a Cometic or OEM head gasket in there for good measure. It takes about an hour tops to yank the head and replace these. You want to do it right, do this. It's cheap & easy and will reward you w/ reliability and potential to up the boost a tad more. If you want to do it even more right, do Vitaras and Eagles or comparable.....then you'll really be set.
Can't wait to see the progress man!!! Sounds great.

RE: Quest for boost...
Sounds good but, from experience i'd add a new OEM headgasket, ARP headstuds just until the unevitable happens =(
You mentioned a manual boost controller....what spring is in the WG?

NA is fine but, i'd rather be blown!

RE: Quest for boost...
Just curious as to what your budget is?
"Quest for Boost" that sound familiar. I'm happy someone is using the name that will actually not wuss out on the quest. But, I have zero regrets.
Good luck on your quest young one.

RE: Quest for boost...
well..the wastegate spring I'm not sure of yet ill prob run .5 or .6 bar spring then i can adjust up from there, as far as arp studs and a cometic gasket, does it really only take an hour to pull the head, cuz if thats the case I will def be doing that. I was always under the impression that pulling the head took quite a while? And info would be appreciated thank you
