Oil of choice
So as most of you know
I'm turbo D
Just changed my vtec solenoid gaskets.
thank gawd no more oil leak.
But I'm about to change my oil
And curious to what you guys recommend with the turbo
normal or full synthetic?
Ive run both and know that the oil pressure reads differently
But I also know the turbo eats up oil pretty good not to mention vtec
so would the normal thicker oil be better?
Ive heard some of the se-r turbo guys running
like three quarts of 10w-30
and two quarts of 10w-40
...?
opinions please!

RE: Oil of choice
If you've ever run full synthetic, then you shouldn't use anything but full synthetic. I also would not recommend using two different weights of oil at the same time. I'm NA, but I only run full synthetic 5w30, either Mobil 1 or Royal Purple. Once I go turbo I may change the weight up to 10w30, depending on what the shop recommends.

RE: Oil of choice
motul, but if thats out of you price range try the greddy oil turbo blend, iv used bolth and can say when i do a oil change at 3000 miles the oil still has some color to it , unlike the mobile one witch brakes down in about 2000 miles, mobile one is more of a budget synthetic

RE: Oil of choice
With our FL temps, I'd say any decent, real full synthetic in 10w30. As mentioned earlier, the better synthetics won't break down as much as cheaper oil at high temps so you shouldn't really worry about upping the viscosity too much.
