eyepop  Need help...Installing cam gears

okay I have a y7 and I have a gates racing timing belt and a skunk2 cam gear... theres already a post just like this on the install but its not downloading for me... so i was wondering if anybody has DIY's on how to do it on a SOHC... Thanks

This is what I used when I installed mine Skunk2 gear. Just be sure you have a woodruff key.

Nice find Jeremy. That should take care of it. Good instructions.

IMO It's never bad to use adjustable cam gears. Most motors will benefit from them regardless of other mods. However, (I know you know Jeremy) tuning is absolutely necessary to take advantage of them.

Woodruff key and advance the timing on the Cam gear 4.5 degree. Rule of thumb unless it is specifically made for the Y8 cam ie AEM True time Cam gears. You will have to advance the timing. Skunk2's Cam gear covers 88-00. The line up with the Y8 Cam and Head is different then the other D series motors. Here is a great writeup:
