my a/c went down.....

Sad  my a/c went down.....

so last saturday when i started my car, and i turned the a/c on, there was only warm air coming out. and i brought my car to let my friend (ASE certified) to check it out. and he said the a/c compressor wont kick in. and my other have one for sale, and he wants $50 for it. should i take it? is it a good deal? i search online the brand new one costs $350+ so tell me your opinions guys.

And1 sep my belt tensioner wont stay on, so i dont even have the option Banghead

i would go with a reman you can buy one in a kit off ebay for 160 shipped. my personal opinion

its probably just your a/c clutch. i just went through this whole ordeal.

i bought a used compressor from a junkyard for $75 w/ the working clutch attached.

just go to a local shop to have the a/c discharged and tell them you wanna take it home and work on it. That cost me $50 for discharge and recharge or w/e.

Just take it home and install the new clutch or just use the compressor that "came w/" your clutch.

You can also rent pullers and the clutch installer from autozone Thumbup

EDIT: turn your a/c on and check to see if the pressure plate on the pulley is spinning. if not= clutch. if spinning= compressor. But i thought they usually just seize up if they stop working so my bets on your clutch.
