So how was Iraq? what part of cali you from?

Well, Iraq is Iraq. Everytime I go it's the same. Hot, Dusty and Dangerous. I grew up in San Diego because of my dad, he was in the Navy. We moved to Texas while I was in High School. I call Dallas home because I love it. Cheap living and lots of things to do. Texas over all has been great.

Thanks for being nice to my "Slut." She has been rode hard and put up wet. I figured spend some cash build the D. I bought a B16B slowly piecing it together. I am trying to score a CRX or HB for cheap. I'll turbo the D for that chassis. Drop the B into the EJ8 for a bad ass hybrid. Slap on some custom paint and interior and call it a day.

I was thinking about going into the marines, till i sat down and talked to one who had just finished his time with them. He convinced me not to join. Any pics of Iraq/you in Iraq?

Here's my views on that. If you want join then join. Don't let the bad experiences of one be your determining factor. I love being a Soldier. I love serving my country. Sure the situation in Iraq makes everything look so uncertain but it is our job to do what we have to do. I just look at it this way: We have to pay for the over 10 years of free college money that everyone between 92-2001 minus those few that were involved in minor skirmishes here and there got. I have been twice leaving again in August for the "other side" of things in Afghanistan all of this since 2003. Do I want to go? No. But I will do it because it is the right thing to do. If you want to be a Marine, by all means do it. It will make a better and more rounded person. Just be prepared to go to war. Our country needs us to stay in this fight. Our services need people that are willing to take that fight to them. My wife (also a Soldier) hate being away from our children. But we would rather fight them over there, than sit here and wait for them to bring it to us. Your friend, if he has been deployed more then once in the last few years, is just worn out and tired, as am I and my wife. 12-15 month deployments can cause one to reflect negatively on their experience. Oh I forgot Marines only do 9 month tours and get at least an equal amount of time home, as opposed we go for a year 6 months home 15 over there, 11 months home. Oops, I'm rambling, PTSD meds. LOL
