does any one know how to tune a amp

can anyone teach me how to tune an amp because my friends were messin with my amps settings and just 1 day i noticed a sour smell in my car and when i went to check where it came from it came from my sub box port ? i think its blown lol ?

haha it sounds like its hitting too hard i usually do it just using my trusty ole ears just mess with the amp and try to make it hit as smooth as possible. ive gotten that smell when my cuzin turned the amp up too much and it was hitting too hard .... hope this helps lol

a blown speaker doesnt have a smell, if you want to test your speaker to see if its blown, take a 9 volt battery and touch the pos. to pos., neg. to neg. and your speaker will make a popping sound and move back and forth, if it makes a scratching sound, then its close to blown, or blown, as far as tuning an amp, its really all personal preference, how do you want it to sounds, just turn your system on, get back there and go by what you think sounds good, hope that helps ya

when you blow a amp, as i have seen personally twice.. theres alot of smoke, and the smell is plastic. so, maby you left some old socks on the amp ?? im not sure how to tune a amp tho.. sorry
