RE: Going Turbo

Anyone have input on a DSM t-25 turbo? I know they are hella small, BUT all im looking for is more torque. Im just worried that it would be TOO small.

RE: Going Turbo

It's a decent slug for sure.

However, you are right to a degree, they will fall off a little in the upper rpm range of our Civics. Definitely a great little street turbo though. I personally would go bigger though.

RE: Going Turbo

well i went to turbod16.com and searched T25 in turbo set-ups and found this:

phresh_5 -- 205whp 196wtq
D16z6 stock -- T25 -- 10-11psi -- Uberdata, DSM450s
http://turbod16.com/album_pic.php?pic_id=2181 (broken link)

but atleast its a couple numbers.

and this other post on there about a guy's T25 set up:

d16z6 180k on motor
stock. 200compression across the board.

log manifold
dsm t25 turbo
tial 38mm @ 8psi
2.5" dp
no cat
3" exhaust
no intake
2.5" IC piping
6" JRC IC

8psi by 3800 in any gear
still lagging though, before the external swap, i was hitting 8psi by 3300

opendown pipe i yeild about 400rpm quicker spool

---------------------------------
There ya go for a start.

RE: Going Turbo

Hmm, thanks. appreciate it. A delima that seems to pop up alot with these turbos are the flanges and bug sensors. Looks like im going to pass these up. Next in line would be a greddy turbo, since i live in Cali this would help with the cops and emissions. Could i just use the turbo itself and aftermarket parts? (intercooler, ecu, etc)

i mean you can pick up an hf crx manifold on ebay for ~$50/shipped and an adapter to mate it w/ the T25 turbo for about the same price. That's prob the route im gonna take except i have a small 16g turbo.

and but your last sentence do you mean start w/ any turbo then piece the rest together separately? if so that's just called piecing your own kit, so yes you could.

RE: Going Turbo

Ive read that the hf manifold doesnt flow well. Im still debating, i cant make up my mind. I know that a turbo kit can be pieced, im just saying if the greddy turbo would mate with aftermarket (spearco, precision, etc) parts. Appreciate the help

i mean yeah lol it would mate w/ aftermarket parts given you use an intercooler w/ similar intake and output diameters and stuff like that.

RE: Going Turbo

Got it. Thanks. After some more research, a 14b is now also an option. Im between a greddy turbo or the 14b. Im more concerned about gas millage with the 14b, ive read about people getting 24 mpg city driving with this turbo. I will be driving a lot because of college and work, last thing i need is to spend tons at the pump.
