Nice bro. Welcome to the bright side. Can't wait to see what happens. If you need any help, let me know. This swap should be about as easy as it gets though.

Thanks fellas. I'll keep you posted. I'm picking up a 98+ spec JDM ITR LSD tranny with 4.785 fd next week from a buddy and he's got a stash of b-series parts I will rummage thru first.

Congratulations Gabe. When do you expect to have it in?

Most-likely...not for a few months...or however long it takes me to find/source all the parts.

I have a bunch of buddies here locally who are really interested in donating/helping me with parts.

At this point in time...I'm just worried about getting it in the car and running. Depends on how I like the non-vtec setup. We'll see.

Do you AutoX through SCCA? My car is finally ready to compete and I want to get into it down in Florida.

Also, I think you might have the same problem I have, your engine swap causes a 15% increase in displacement, which by SCCA rules places you in the Race Modified class. Even my 1.8 liter puts me in that category I believe.

RE: ...:::GABEBAUMAN FINALLY HAS A REASON FOR A BUILD THREAD:::...

Hmmmm...interesting...but I'm looking around on the SCCAForums.com and it seams to be a legal swap for the SM class.

16. STREET MODIFIED CATEGORY

D. Drivetrain and related components (induction, ignition, fuel
systems, etc.) are unrestricted except for the following limitations:

1. Engine block must be a production unit manufactured and
badged the same as the original standard or optional engine
for that model. Badges that exist as marketing aliases for the
manufacturer will be recognized as equivalents. Swaps
involving makes related only at a corporate level are not
recognized as equivalents. Models produced as a joint
|venture between manufacturers may utilize any engine from
any partner in the joint venture, provided that an engine from
the desired manufacturer was a factory option in that
particular model (e.g. Eagle Talon available originally with
either a Mitsubishi or Chrysler engine, may use any motor
from Chrysler or Mitsubishi). This allows engine blocks
manufactured as production units for sale in other countries
such as Japan or Germany.

2. Maximum engine displacements per class are specified in
Appendix A.

APPENDIX A - AUTOMOBILE CLASSES

STREET MODIFIED CATEGORY
Engine Classifications
1. Four-stroke cycle and two-stroke cycle, naturally aspirated internal
combustion engines will be classified on the basis of actual
piston displacement.
2. Turbocharged or supercharged versions of all engine will be
classified on a basis of adding 1.4L to the actual displacement.
3. Rotary Engines (Wankel): These units will be classified on the
basis of a piston displacement equivalent to 1.8 liters plus the
volume determined by the difference between the maximum
and minimum capacity of the working chamber, times the number
of rotors.

Class SM

Eligible Vehicles:
All sedans/coupes (models which were originally equipped with a
minimum of four seats and four factory seat belts).

Minimum Weight Calculations:
All listed weights are without driver.
FWD: 1550 lbs + 125 lbs/liter

Regardless of the weight formulas above, no car will be required to
weigh more than 3100 lbs.
