If I remember correctly, it only works w/ obd1. I never paid attention because I was already converted to obd1.

With your modifications, the controller will help really minimally. As Jeremy said, the stock engagement point is pretty much ideal (even w/ your bolt-ons) You would see much more of a difference if you had more aggressive cams, valvetrain, higher or lower compression...however, it's still not the biggest gain.

If you're serious about getting a tuning tool, just save your money, convert to obd1 and have your computer chipped & tuned by a pro. This will net you WAY more power and your car will just generally feel like a different car as far as performance goes. The little vtec controller is pretty much useless.

hey thanks buddy!
well as of the strict regulations california has.
i think installing the vtec controller sounds like a waste of money and time. bolt ons are easy to take off.
but if i were to get cams, valvetrain, higher or lower compression,
i would need a project motor on the side.
now im trying to save up to make that happen Lol

RE: Field Vtec Controller

No problem bro.

Basically when it comes to tuning (unless you're a pro) take it somewhere to get it done right. That alone will reward you with increased performance....and well....better everything for that matter. I've heard too many horror stories describing how someone with "a hack" (a piggy back fuel controller/ computer modifier) screwed their motor trying to change things up on their own.

Just save smart stick to the basics. Don't splurge on little fluff, pointless things like this. The was the bomb like ten years ago. It's nothing special now.
