RE: ep3 V-tec or not?

the EP3 is also a K20a
All K20's are ivtec
not to mention a timing chain and a rocker roller valvetrain.

RE: ep3 V-tec or not?

i-VTEC is similar to Toyota's VVT-i... all it pretty much means is that your valve timing is computer controlled and depending on how much power the computer is sensing that you are needing, it will adjust the intake valve timing accordingly in order to maximize power or gas milage depending on your driving demands... IMO though, EP3's aren't worth nearly as much as EM1's... Their popularity was never too high and the residual value of the cars are dropping faster than Daewoos, lol... my co-worker has one and barely pulls on me everytime we mess around... plus, he bought his for $19K and now it's worth like $11K, lol... just something to think about i guess...

OH, and BTW, it has quite a bit more power, but it also weighs a lot more than the older hatches and what not... for the price, if i were a smog exempt state (AKA Non-California) i'd go EK9 with K20A because it'd probably come out close to the same price... Big Grin
