complete n00b question
So I have this busted sony xploid cd player in my car
and I have a nasty alpine just sitting in my room
but for the life of me I can not remove my instrument bezel
the top clips pop out and I removed the 2 screws under the AC unit
but the AC still seems to be stuck in
and I have tried figuring it out multiple times and dreaded asking such a lame question
but i have got to know
I refuse to give best buy 50 dollars haha
so how do you remove the whole instrument bezel?
to change out a cd player
thank you!

RE: complete n00b question
You don't need to remove all of it. The CD Player will come out by itself, you have to remove the faceplate and/or the plastic trim that surrounds the deck. There are two clips, one on either side that hold the deck in, you have to push them in and then you can pull the deck straight out.

RE: complete n00b question
if you really wanted to remove the entire bezel.. pop off the hazard and defrost button and there's two screws there, then it should pop out

thats all you gota do, alot of people think you have to remove the bezel but its not true. you may need to get metal prongs that go on the side which will clip into the sides, and push them down then you just pull them toward you and unplug the stuff in the back.

i typed whale penis on ebay and nothing showed up..

RE: complete n00b question
Yeah since you already have a deck, get some Sony removal tools, take it out of the metal sleeve attached to the bezel, un-bend the Sony sleeve, toss the Alpine metal sleeve in, bend tabs, done.

RE: complete n00b question
Well when I took my cd player I removed like half the dash(bottom part) and it was way easier for me

RE: complete n00b question
I have the little prong things from my Pioneer deck. I wonder if they would work for your setup. If so, maybe we could meet up soon sometime.
