Recently I've been asked by Eli "ej8eli", how I felt about advertising on EJ8squad.com. For those of you that don't know Eli is the owner of VB Motorsport which is an online store that opened up in June 2007. He has expressed an interest in possibly having some type of advertising banner on top of the forum.
Below is how I feel.
I didn't start this site to make money. I wanted a forum without all the drama that you find on some forums and where everyone would feel welcomed, an online family if you will. The Google Ads with the combined sales of the decals usually covers my yearly hosting bill. I would be lying if I didn't like the idea of more cash coming into the site. I've always wanted to get t-shirts and hoodies made up for you guys. But, that will not happen without it coming out of my own pocket and I just can't afford to do that at this time. If this site keeps growing like it has been there will be a time that I will have to switch to a dedicated server and that means $$$. I'm sure that step is a long way from now, but you never know.
That's about it. I'll now hand over decision to you. Let me know you feel about this.
Thanks,
Jeremy

Here's a little background info on myself and VB Motorsport. I started getting into cars when I was about 13 when I would help my dad work on his 73 Plymouth Roadrunner in our back shed. When I was in school someone showed me a Super Street magazine (before they stopped showcasing cars Toungue) and I fell in love with the import scene. My first import was a 1997 EJ8 Civic which I did a few things too with the limited budget I had in high school and ended up crashing it before I could turn it into anything that was spectacular (see thread: http://www.ej8squad.com/found-some-carna...-3995.html) From there I bought a haggard 89 CRX to which I rebuilt and swapped a LS engine only to have who I thought was a friend test drive and never bring back. I found it 3 days later in his grandmothers front yard with everything gone but the engine. From there I kind of got out of the scene for a little while and met my now ex-wife and just laid low for a couple years and just followed the performance market from afar. This past autumn I purchased the 99 EJ8 I have now and am in the process of finishing the exterior and suspension as we speak, a thread on EJ8Squad will be posted soon Smile. Last year I brought back a dream I've had since I was 15 in owning my own shop and helping the performance scene to evolve with technology and put my own style and ideas into cars.
VB Motorsport started in June of 2007 as an idea to bring an online store to the internet that prides itself on customer service and great prices. We bring all of the best performance manufactures in one place to allow for one-stop shopping for anyone that's into cars; from Audi, BMW, VW, to Honda, Acura, Toyota, and any manufacture in-between. We also have products from Spark Plug Covers, to turbo manifolds, to complete engine swaps. VBM is currently online only with the ability to do anything except custom fabrication in my garage at my apartment. We are hoping to move into an actual location Summer/Autumn of 2008 if our budget allows with beginning of the year 2009 as the absolute latest for shop grand opening in local Sioux Falls, SD. This past year I brought my buddy Martin Green into VBM in the form of a partner because I believe his vast knowledge of imports and upgrading the performance capabilities of vehicles will be a great benefit to VBM, and from working with him on my LS powered CRX I know our work together is capable of great things. When VBM opens its doors we will be working on fabricating manifolds (both N/A and turbo) and working on our own line of cat-back exhausts. Martin has some items up his sleeves for tuning software that we will be working on and designing our own software program similar to that of Hondata or the like.
As far as pricing goes, we don't get the best discounts with the manufactures currently because we're a small shop in the grand scheme of things and we will do the best we can to price match any other store on the internet, we will even go down to as low as offering the parts to customers at our cost if it means getting them the best deal without having to look further and risk anything less that excellent customer service that VBM prides itself on.
