40-60hp

Well, a friend and I were discussing it today and trying to think of different work or parts to obtain in order to get 40-60 to the wheels.

He has a b16 as well and I wanted to know different ways you guys would approach it.

There aren't really any factors as to how it is accomplished, more or less what's in your head. What I mean by this is in what ways would approach it with what amount of cash.

I was thinking head work, full exhaust, and pistons would put out close to that.

RE: 40-60hp

a lot the power is made in the head so i would go with port and polish, valve train, nice set of cams, pistons

RE: 40-60hp

the most power you can get from adding a simple head piece is cams. get a badass set of cams along with valvetrain because its going to be needed and tune it.. port/polish the head along with portmatching manifold to head will also help out with the vtak.

with Naturally Aspirated motors you have to do some research on parts. its not like turbo, slap it on and say woo hooo! n/a is like a team. gotta get the right combination to get the most outta the motor.

but the MOST IMPORTANT thing out of any modification is a tune! that's where all the power lies. i have a lot done to my GSR but im not tuned so im restricting a lot of power confused0036

You can spend a lot of money on parts but if the ECU still thinks it stock, it will treat those parts as such and run like crap. Remeber to have a extra couple hundred to tune or it will all be in vain

RE: 40-60hp

from my exp.... you gain hp by building the head... you gain tq by building the block.....
40-60hp is ALOT to gain. it isnt gonna be a $300-$500 process. i think extensive head work is prob with precise tuning might get you there
